Smell that? I can smell the festival season coming and we’re ready for it!

As we close the COVID-chapter and start a new leaf, I don’t know about you but I’m grabbing my keys, my phone and what’s left of my sanity and storming out to get ready for this year’s music festival season. 

From popular festivals like Coachella to niche music festivals and from international headliners to local indie acts, here is a list of music festivals to look out for in 2023.

Coachella - Indo, California, USA

When: April 14-16 & April 21-23, 2023

I mean if you’re out here looking for music festivals and you don’t know what Coachella is, how though? This is probably one of the most famous music festivals in the world featuring a diverse lineup of genres ranging from pop rock to hip-hop. The festival takes place in the Californian desert and attracts thousands of music lovers every year. This is one of the most iconic festivals that sets the bar for other music festivals both in music and fashion influence. 

 

Glastonbury Festival - Pilton, Somerset, UK

When: June 21-25, 2023

If leaving the state is not enough for you to enjoy this post-COVID life, step it up and pack your bags and head out to the Glastonbury Festival - one of the most famous music festivals in the UK. Featuring a mix of popular and up-and-coming artists, this also features comedy, theater, and circus performances making it a truly unique and immersive experience. 

 

Lollapalooza - Chicago, Illinois, USA

When: July 27-30, 2023

If you want to get your feet wet in the music festival game, Lollapalooza may be the answer. Taking place in Grant Park Chicago, Lollapalooza features a mix of genres from rock to hip-hop and electronic and attracts big-name artists and up-and-coming acts alike. 

 

Primavera Sound - Barcelona, Spain 

When: June 1-4, 2023

Another destination music festival that takes place in the beautiful city of Barcelona, Primavera Sound features a diverse lineup of pop, indie, rock and the most underground tendencies of electronic and dance music. With a country so rich in food and art, this festival also features various food and art installations what makes it a unique and vibrant festival that you wouldn’t want to miss. 

 

Roskilde Festival - Roskilde, Denmark

When: June 24-July 1, 2023

If we’re talking about OG festivals, then we’re talking about Roskilde Festival - one of the oldest and biggest music festivals in Europe attracting over 130,000 attendees every year. The festival takes place over four days in early July and features a variety of music genres, as well as art and cultural events. It is known for its focus on sustainability and social responsibility, with its profits going to various charities and cultural projects.

 

Tomorrowland - Boom, Belgium

When: July 21-July 30, 2023

You know it’s going to be a blast when the place you’re heading to is called “Boom”. Tomorrowland is one of the largest and most popular music festivals in the world, featuring a diverse range of electronic dance music (EDM) artists and performers across numerous stages. I know, I know. It’s such a mouthful but this festival is also an awe-full festival that you need to tick off in your bucket list. Let us bring you to the land down under at one of the biggest music festivals in Australia - Splendour in the Grass. With a mix of popular and alternative acts, this festival takes you to the beautiful coastal town of Byron Bay and features a variety of food and art installations, making it a must-visit festival for music festivals in the region. 

 

Burning Man - Black Rock Desert Nevada, USA

When: August 27-September 3, 2023

Burning Man is known for its outlandish art installations, elaborate costumes, and the burning of a massive wooden effigy on the final night of the event.
